It’s a live take, shot on a FLIP camera by our French friend and fan, Stan, as he couldn’t resist dancing to the DEFiBILATORs song, ‘Defibulator’, while trying to keep the shot centered. It proves for a very experimental look into yet another moment of the Euro Tour, Fall 2009.

Beer Diary from Wechelderzande, Flanders

Just look at all the tender loving care that goes into pouring the average glass of beer in Belgium.
This particular beer was amazing. It’s pretty much the closest thing to the Holy Grail we found.
The video features our roadie and red right-hand man, Stan, who knows a thing or deux about beer.

We came across our first of many bizarre Santa displays we’ve found on tour here.

The Defibulators go to Prison!

While in Belgium, we played our first prison gig.
The Hoogstraten State Prison is an old castle that Napoleon used to hang out in.

We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the inmates, but here is the view of the auditorium from the stage:

For dinner we ate prison sandwiches and drank toilet wine.

The inmates were loud and rowdy, hollering at Bru throughout the set, and Metalbelly nearly caused a riot at the end of ‘Down in Mexico’.

For our first gig in Europe, we had the honor of opening for New Jersey legend Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at Paradiso in Amsterdam. A former church, Paradiso is a beautiful room with amazing acoustics, and a packed house of over 1000 welcomed The Defibulators, kicking off our tour in style.
